About Lord Daniel
The Much Hon. Sir Knight W. Daniel Petryga, Lord of Blackwood |
Born Wolodymyr Daniel in the 1950's at the Township of York, Ontario, Canada, Lord Petryga's lineage stretches to Ukraine. Early Christian History in Ukraine holds that the apostle Andrew, the patron saint of Scotland, is said to have preached on the southern borders of modern-day Ukraine, along the Black Sea. Legend has it that he travelled up the Dnieper River and reached the future location of Kiev, where he erected a cross on the site where the St. Andrew's Church of Kiev currently stands, and prophesied the foundation of a great Christian city. It is believed that these 10th century ties are the first signs of lineage between the Petryga/Pawluk families and the former royal burgh Sanct Androis, (Gaelic: Cill Rìmhinn) on the east coast of Fife in Scotland.
Lord Daniel is a 4th degree Knight of Columbus, carrying the title of Sir Knight, a member of the Order of Crusaders and a Scottish Laird - Lord of Blackwood.
